I'll keep it short... BRIGHTON BANDITS FC were the hosts to Groucho Club in the first ever meeting between these two Clubs.
Lee Towsey chose to put four men in defence this time out which allowed the BANDITS to prevent some very impressive Groucho performers from opening the scoring. The BANDITS were using this tie to try out some new recruits & soon got their return when Hobbs (for those who are lost... Minge's new identity... it's so much more simple to remember & write) put Aidie through to open the scoring inside the opening ten minutes. This is when the BANDITS went into overdrive & before they knew it Aidie's thunderous looping shot went up & over the Groucho keeper & in to the net.
The old cliché goes... "there's two sides to every story"... and this is how I would describe this tie. Groucho Club came out much stronger in the second period & sent the BANDITS into complete disorder. All the time the BANDITS were sitting 2 - 0 up & being put under immense pressure by the Groucho men it would only result in one outcome... the visitors scoring... twice! The BANDITS did come close to netting their third when Hobbs' shot went inches wide, but it would have been very cruel on the visitors, who in the end deserved to win the tie.
I believe this is the best BRIGHTON BANDITS FC exhibition I've ever seen. I think the entire side played well, but there's some José Mourinho mentions owing...
It's impossible to describe our keeper's excellent shot-stopping skills in words, but the Groucho men were referring to him being our very own Petr Cech... this is Lee's opinion too... giving him the 'MOTM' title for the second consecutive Fixture... incredible!
Lee did reserve two more unique mentions... Mr King for his energetic movement & Aidie for scoring two superb strikes. |
